Forum Rules
Respect every member of the Site--Staff and Members.
We implore every person stick to the Golden Rule: Treat Others How You'd Wish to Be Treated. We understand characters must act a particular way in order to keep their in-characterness. However, in Out of Character threads and discussions, we expect every member to fine tune the Golden Rule.
If a problem arises, please use your resources, Admin, to help you solve any issues. If there is a problem we will do our best to step in and take action, but in order to keep this promise to our members, we must be able to know about such problems. Our Members must be willing to come forth to us and allow us to help.
If a problem arises and a Member has issues with an Administration Team Member, please come forth to another Administration Team Member so the issue may be worked out.
Absolutely no Spamming is allowed! Anyone caught spamming will be Deleted and Banned.
Spamming includes, but is not limited to: e-mailing members about other sites, posting advertisements anywhere but the permitted boards, and misusing contact information to message members about other sites as a guest.
Proboards has a PG-13 rating. Anything considered too mature to be on the boards e.g sex will be removed. We understand it's unrealistic for characters to not have sexual thoughts or feelings. But there are tasteful ways these areas of RP can be skipped over.
Discrimination of any kind is not tolerated. This includes, but is not limited to discrimination of: race, color, religion, ethnicity, gender, economical background, sexual orientation, and age.
RP & posting rules
Do not post or reply to any rp's on the boards until your character has been accepted by a Staff member. You are more than welcome to chat in the OOC area, but do not role play just yet.
Although there isn't a strict word count you are required to stick to, we prefer it if you can try to keep posts longer than 150 words, preferably quite a bit longer. We are aware sometimes this may not happen. But if you continuously fail to meet this, we'll have to ask you to step up your game.
Please do not put up any IC post or application unless it has been fully completed. As Staff members, we like to look at each created character and time spent on looking through unfinished applications could be spent elsewhere to help you all out on the forum. Please and thank you.
Try to stick to writing in the 3rd person, since writing in the present can sometimes become confusing.
e.g.:
NO- I ran to the phone
NO-John is running to the phone
YES- John ran to the phone
No Godmoding of any kind! If we get complaints of your character attempting to control other characters' actions without permission in RP, you will be asked to edit your RP accordingly.
Be sure to always use quotation marks "" whenever your character speaks out loud. If your character is thinking certain parts you have written, this writing has to stand out too, most people use italics or another font. Don't choose anything stupid like huge letters or caps.
If for any reason your character speaks something in a foreign tongue, a translation will need to be put in a footnote at the end of your post, so the person your role playing with (and others) know exactly what was said, even if their character might not.
If you are in a RP thread with a large number of people involved, sometimes it can get a little confusing as to where everyone is and what they is doing. In this case, if you refer or speak to another person, just type in a footnote at the end of your post anybody you've spoken about. E.g. [Character reference = John Smith]
Character Rules
Read the "How does it work" page before applying.
There is a limit of two characters per IP address. Most websites will allow more, but just for activity purposes three is our maximum. We find that although it's possible, having lots of characters means that they won't be as active as you would be with just one. It means the quality of their posts would suffer because if your seven characters have seven threads to respond to each, their posts will rapidly go downhill when they get bored.
If you want more than 2 characters on this site, you will need to ask permission from one of our staff members.
Do not steal names! This is to say it's very unlikely that a character is going to be called 'Brad Pitt' or 'William Shakespeare'
All character have their flaws. Do not make your character a super human; it's just not realistic. Try not to make your character an indestructible, steel skinned, all seeing, all knowing x-man who can read minds, win every fight and has a photographic memory. Even superman had a weakness! (Even if it was only one).
Your pokemon is not allowed to be perfect either. Pokemon have personalities as well. They have virtues and vices. They can't dodge every blast or deliver a knock out blow on the first try. To keep it fun and realistic no godmodding is allowed while battling.
If one of your characters leaves the site for any reason, you will be able to bring them back to the site at a future date if you wish to. It isn't recommended because in reality a LOT would have happened in their lives. You will need to keep this in mind when RPing.
Each character is only allowed to return once, so if you do welcome your character back, try not to fall into inactivity again otherwise he or she will not be allowed back because you'll have to keep filling in the blanks.
Pregnancies and are allowed on the site. Please message admin if your character is going to be having a baby. Admin will let you know the gender and other information concerning size and weight. This makes it more realistic; no one is able to choose their child's gender in real life! (Not yet anyway).
Murders are not allowed however. It's just too morbid for this RP site.
Graphics Rules
Please do not post any offensive images on your avatar or signature. Nothing vulgar or obscene, it will be removed and you shall receive a warning.
Avatars and signatures should be of your character only, do not assign a signature to your profile that is not your claimed celebrity. Pokemon may be included in your signature however. Include the password "cupcakes" in your application. If you wish to set up a board to make signatures for other people, then you are permitted to include examples of other signatures, but only in your posts.
Try to keep your siggy from stretching the boards, this means it's not to be more than 500 pixels wide.
Your character's playby, siggy and avatar has to be a real person, no anime or cartoons please. (Except for the pokemon)
Feel free to post pictures within the forum, and as your signature, there isn't a specific size guide, however if your picture is taking up the majority of the space on a page, you will be asked to reduce the size.
Avatars should be kept at 100x100 pixels as standard, just so the columns don't stretch.
